Msgr Michael Flannery celebrates 60 years of priesthood
For the June edition of Mississippi Catholic, St. Francis parishioner Joe Lee sat down with Msgr. Michael Flannery to discuss the 60th anniversary of his priest ordination. They discuss Padre’s arrival in Mississippi during the tense summer of 1964 and his assignment to Pascagoula three years later, which led to thousands of diocesan youth making mission trips to impoverished Saltillo, Mexico. You’ll also find out what made Padre so interested in canon law, and why the completion of St. Anthony School was so important to him. Watch for the story in the June Mississippi Catholic and help celebrate Padre, a true St. Francis treasure.
