"It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.”
Discovering Christ is about "big questions." What is the meaning of my life? Why am I here? Where can I find true happiness? We all have a longing that there is something more for us. We try to fill this void with the things of this world - money, power, pleasure. Yet, none of these fill the void. St. Augustine famously wrote: "You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in you." Discovering Christ is about finding this rest in a relationship with Jesus. If you want more out of your faith experience, give us one night a week for seven weeks. Discovering Christ has touched many people in our parish. There is no reason why it cannot touch you. Follow the lead of St. Peter and step out of the boat. Mt. 14:29.
Do I have time for Discovering Christ? What are the things in your life that are preventing you from making a commitment to seven weeks? Father Mike Schmitz has a short video about developing a vision for your life. Check it out and pray about his message. Do not take tomorrow for granted. Jesus is very clear: "Watch, therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.... Therefore, you also must be ready; for the Son of man is coming at an hour you do not expect." Matt. 24:42, 44.
